FRENCH FOR LIVING

Azay-le-Rideau chateau, Loire Valley

For your next life....en français!

Learning, and mastering, French may have become an important goal in your life. Maybe you're planning to retire to France, maybe you've always wanted to brush up on your O Level French from a few years back, or maybe you've never discovered how enjoyable and rewarding it can be to speak a foreign language, and you'd like to give French a try.

Whatever your reasons, I will discuss these with you in detail before starting lessons, so I can get a good idea of your existing strengths and weaknesses (if applicable), what your objectives are, and those areas of the language (conversation, grammar, vocabulary etc) which are of most interest to you.

As sessions progress, I will monitor (and provide feedback on) your progress, set homework on request and suggest areas in need of refreshment or consolidation. I will also give you written and oral tests from time to time. My French for Living courses incorporate both the functional/conversational approach of my Holiday French course and the more technical approach of my School French sessions.

So, yes, we do normally cover some grammar - without it, you'll never be able to express yourself as freely as you'd like. But rest assured, I'll make it interesting and fun! And if you'd rather not do any, that's fine. As I tailor my courses to my clients' individual needs and preferences, we can work on whatever language areas, and at whatever pace, is best for you.
