Advanced #16: the subjunctive - the world of the hypothetical (2 of 2)
Completing our look at the subjunctive, in this lesson we will use it to translate sentences such as:
- I want him to leave;
- You must arrive before the show starts;
- The government has to ban certain websites; and
- She doesn't think that they're here.
We will also look at alternatives to using the subjunctive. Unlike the sciences, the great thing about languages is that there is often more than one way to solve a problem, so if you don't want to use the subjunctive, you'll often find that there is a way around it!
